Where is Babul Ilm based?

Who runs Babul Ilm?

For new students

My child has never opened a Qur'an before. Where do they start?

With Quran Reading (Nazira). We teach the Arabic letters from scratch — no prior knowledge required.

I am an adult and embarrassed about not knowing how to read the Qur'an.

You are not alone, and there is no embarrassment at Babul Ilm. Our adult beginners' batches are taught separately from children, with teachers chosen for patience.

Can I take a trial class before paying?

Yes. After the assessment call, we offer one observation class. After the first paid class, if the student or parent is not comfortable with the teacher or batch, we offer a switch — no extra cost.

What languages do you teach in?

English, Malayalam, and Arabic primarily. Some teachers also teach in Urdu and Tamil — let us know during the admission call.

Online classes

Do I need any special software?

No. The portal opens in any modern web browser. Classes are held via a secure video link sent to you before each session.

What if I miss a class?

Attendance is taken every class. If you miss, your teacher is notified and a make-up class is offered if scheduling allows. Repeated absences are flagged to parents through the portal.

Are classes recorded?

No. We do not record live classes. Recording a student's recitation without their knowledge is not acceptable to us.

Fees and refunds

When are fees due?

Monthly, by the 5th of every month. Reminders are sent via the portal and SMS.

What happens if I need to pause?

Up to one month of pause per year is allowed without losing your seat, by prior notice. Beyond that we re-enrol you in the next available batch.

Can I get a refund?

First month: full refund within 7 days of the first class, if the student has attended fewer than 3 classes. Subsequent months: no refund once the month has started — speak to admin.

The portal and the mobile app

What is the portal for?

Parents and students log in to see attendance, weekly teacher notes, fee status, downloadable receipts, announcements, and class schedules.

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — for Android and iOS. Same information as the portal, plus push notifications for fee reminders, attendance alerts, and announcements.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Passwords are stored with industry-standard hashing — even our administrators cannot see your password. We do not share contact details with third parties.
