Teach at Babul Ilm

We’re hiring scholars and teachers who want to spend their working hours opening the Qur’an with someone new. If that’s you, we’d love to read your application.

Why Babul Ilm

Teach with purpose

Every class moves a learner closer to Allah’s book. Our students are children and adults, beginners and Huffaz. The work matters.

A small, supportive team

You won’t be a name on a spreadsheet. Our principal, scheduler, and HR work alongside teachers — not above them.

Grow as a teacher

Weekly review sessions, structured feedback during probation, peer observation, and an in-house tajweed refresher every term.

Real benefits

Fair, transparent pay tied to class hours. Annual bonus tied to student outcomes. Paid leave for Hajj and family obligations.

What we look for

  • Sound Qur’anic knowledge

Trained in tajweed at minimum; Hifz or ijaza preferred for senior roles.

  • A teacher’s patience

You can sit with a beginner for the tenth repetition of the same letter and still encourage them.

  • Clear communication

You can explain Arabic letters and rules in English or Malayalam (or both) so a 7-year-old or a 60-year-old understands.

  • Reliable internet and a quiet space

For online teachers. We provide the platform; you provide a steady connection and a distraction-free room.

  • Background you can stand behind

We verify documents and references. Honesty about your training and experience is non-negotiable.

The application process

Seven steps. We tell you exactly what is happening at each stage.

  1. 1

    Apply

Submit this form. Takes about 10 minutes. We acknowledge by email within one working day.

  2. 2

    Aptitude test

A short online assessment of tajweed, recitation knowledge, and teaching scenarios. You can take it from home.

  3. 3

    Interview

A 30-minute conversation with our principal or academic head — about your training, your approach, and the role.

  4. 4

    Demo classes

Up to three live demo classes with real or stand-in students. We score communication, classroom management, and tajweed.

  5. 5

    Rules & code of conduct

A short test confirming you have read and understood our academy rules, child-safety code, and teaching standards.

  6. 6

    Onboarding

Paperwork, payroll setup, portal training, first batch assignment. Usually wraps inside a week.

  7. 7

    Welcome to Babul Ilm

    Frequently asked

How long does the whole process take?

Typically two to four weeks from application to your first class — sometimes faster when batches are urgent. Each stage tells you what to expect next.

Can I apply for more than one course?

Yes. Select all the courses you can teach. Our academic head decides the best fit during the interview.

Where will I teach — online, in person, or both?

Both modes are available. Many of our teachers do a mix. Online teachers can be anywhere in India with good internet; in-person batches run at our centre in Kerala.

Do you support fully remote teaching?

Yes. Roughly two-thirds of our classes are online. You will need a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a laptop or tablet with a working microphone and camera.

What if my application is rejected at any stage?

We tell you, clearly and respectfully, by email. You can reapply after six months if your circumstances change — for example, after completing additional training.

    Questions before applying?

We’d rather talk than have you wonder
